ARAWINI GOLD pROJECT
Arawini Gold Project Location Map
Arawini Gold Project (option to acquire 100%)
The Arawini gold project covers approximately 22,000 acres of mineral rights in the Cuyuni Mining District in northwest Guyana and about 200 km from Georgetown and 40 km from the Aurora mine. Access is by helicopter, “bush” road from the Mathews Ridge community and boat.
In May 2018, Reunion entered into a definitive agreement with respect to the Arawini project entitling Reunion to conduct exploration activities and to acquire a 100% interest in the project during a period of five years, with possible extension.
Geology and mineralization
The project area is underlain by a sequence of Proterozoic volcanic and sedimentary rocks flanking a granitic batholith known to host several gold prospects that have been the object of artisanal mining of both alluvial and primary mineralization.
Previous geochemical exploration outlined several soil and stream sediment anomalies that need to be followed-up. Reunion is planning to commence a reconnaissance program for the project area later in the year.
